This program designed for mortuary professionals will include information about SIDS legislation, current research theories, and the relationship between maternal/infant risk factors and SIDS. The role of mortuary professionals in responding to a sudden infant death, how to compassionately assist and support families, and the tasks of grieving are included as part of this program. This educational session can be adapted for presentations to allied emergency personnel such as trauma intervention staff, coroners, and other investigative personnel.
