California SIDS Program Reports

This section of the website provides an ongoing communication link to access the agenda, activities and action plan of the California SIDS Advisory Council. It includes regular updates and informational documents which summarize the collaborative efforts of the Council, California SIDS Program and California Department of Public Health (CDPH), in addressing the identified needs/concerns of the California SIDS Community.

Advisory Council Chair Updates and Actions

The Council Chair, appointed by the Director of the CDPH sets the agenda for each scheduled meeting and serves as the Council's voice. The Advisory Council Chair Updates and Actions offer a chronological perspective of the obstacles, problems and challenges being addressed by this nine-member appointed body. Regular updates outline the major issues/concerns before the Council; membership input and recommendations; strategic action plans; major activities; and progress in addressing the identified needs. California SIDS Program Reports

The California SIDS Program performs a variety of contractual activities in undertaking its defined mission and working to address specified goals and objectives defined by the State. This section summarizes in a standardized reporting format the Program's statewide activities, data collection and compliance monitoring outcomes. Activity Reports are submitted four times yearly to the California SIDS Advisory Council and offer an ongoing perspective of the Program's major areas of focus. Reports included in this section include data for local coroner offices and health jurisdictions providing mandated SIDS services/support and the number of presumed SIDS deaths by calendar year as reported to the Program.
